Hi,

It sounds like either the DB_USER was created with insufficient privileges when configuring the database or there's some other problem with user/password combination when starting up cuebot. Here are a few things to verify...

1.) Make sure that steps 1 & 2 were performed as described in the "Creating the database" section of https://www.opencue.io/docs/getting-started/setting-up-the-database/
     As noted in the "Important" section, if the database tables were created before altering the user privileges, you will need to run the "GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES..." command.

2.) Ensure that the DB_NAME, DB_USER, and DB_PASS environment variables are all correctly set to match the values specified when creating the database. Be sure to run the cuebot container specifying the additional "--datasource" flags used to specify the username and password as described in the "Installing and Running Cuebot" section of https://www.opencue.io/docs/getting-started/deploying-cuebot/.

3.) If you are still running into problems, check the logs for any additional error messages in the cuebot startup. See the "Verifying your install" section of https://www.opencue.io/docs/getting-started/deploying-cuebot/.

I hope that helps get you started. Please let us know if you continue to run into any issues.

The ASWF celebrates its first anniversary this week! A huge thanks to the entire community for all of your support and contributions.
 
We had a few announcements today, and we'd appreciate if you can help us spread the news via social media:
  • Netflix, Amazon Web Services, Rodeo FX, and MovieLabs have joined the Foundation. You can read the announcements here and here.
  • Pixar's OpenTimelineIO becomes the fifth project hosted at the Foundation. The announcement is here.
  • The debut of the new ASWF Sizzle Reel!  
Also, for those of you at SIGGRAPH, don't forget to come by Open Source Day tomorrow at the JW Marriott, Diamond Ballroom 7-10. It kicks off at 8:00 am with the Academy Software Foundation BoF (breakfast provided), followed by a full day of BoFs on OpenVDB, OpenCue, OpenEXR, Rez, OpenTimelineIO, ACES, OpenColorIO, Open Shading Language, and MaterialX.  We'll have lots of swag onsite. Hi all,

Apologies if this has been asked/answered before, but I couldn't find much info in the obvious places. I'm looking for some public documentation of the foundation structure, including the roles of the governing board, TAC, and project TSCs. Basically, a public equivalent to the "Open Source Investigation Summary and Recommendations" pdf that was circulated before the foundation was formed.

Thanks, those slides are helpful, as is the tac GitHub page, but I was looking for something more detailed regarding how people are appointed/elected to the Governing Board and TAC. I think sections 4.1-4.3 of the aforementioned pdf do a good job laying out the landscape of the foundation, assuming it still applies as written there (aside from the name change). Is there any reason not to make that portion of the document public (either as an attachment here, as an markdown file on the tac GitHub page, or as a first class section of aswf.io)?
