ASWF Project & Community Survey
Emily Olin
ASWF Community:
Calling all users of OpenEXR, OpenVDB, OpenCue, OpenColorIO, Open Shading Language, and OpenTimelineIO! Our ASWF projects would like your feedback as they build out technical roadmaps and prioritize efforts. Please consider taking this survey before Feb. 1: https://www.surveymonkey.com/ We've designed the survey so that respondents don't have to answer all the questions, but only those that pertain to projects they use on a regular basis. We'd appreciate if you could also help us by sharing the survey with other community and industry members.

ASWF themed Zoom backgrounds for community use
ASWF Community, As we've all shifted to using virtual conferencing tools for our day-to-day interactions, and with tools such as Zoom allowing the user to introduce a virtual background to add flair to the meeting ( or maybe hide the makeshift office assembled ;-) ). Talking with David Morin and others, there was interest in creating a way to showcase the foundation in these meetings. To help with that, we've created a set of ASWF themed Zoom backgrounds that one can use in their community or other meetings. These are open for anyone to freely use. You can find the backgrounds in the ASWF Artwork repository at https://github.com/AcademySoftwareFoundation/artwork/blob/master/examples/other.md#aswf-zoom-backgrounds. Let me know if you have any issues or feedback in using these backgrounds. Thank you, John Mertic Director of Program Management - Linux Foundation ASWF, ODPi, and Open Mainframe Project |

Might be more direct to ask this question on one of the opencue specific mail lists? On Thu, Apr 16, 2020 at 8:53 AM Michael Hodges <michael@...> wrote: The "./gradlew shadowJar” command for installing Cuebot from source on OS X fails with the following error: --

Gradle command failing OS X
Michael Hodges
The "./gradlew shadowJar” command for installing Cuebot from source on OS X fails with the following error:
MyComputer:~ MyUser$ cd /Users/MyUser/OpenCue/cuebot MyComputer:cuebot MyUser$ ./gradlew shadowJar Starting a Gradle Daemon (subsequent builds will be faster) <-------------> 0% INITIALIZING [52ms] > IDLE FAILURE: Build failed with an exception. * What went wrong: Task 'shadowJar' not found in root project ‘cuebot' I read this might be related to too knew a version of Java so I've installed Java8 via Homebrew as Java8 seemed to help on Centos. MyComputer:~ MyUser$ java -version openjdk version "1.8.0_242" OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_242-b08) Eclipse OpenJ9 VM (build openj9-0.18.1, JRE 1.8.0 Mac OS X amd64-64-Bit Compressed References 20200122_439 (JIT enabled, AOT enabled) OpenJ9 - 51a5857d2 OMR - 7a1b0239a JCL - 8cf8a30581 based on jdk8u242-b08) Unfortunately, that did not resolve it. Am I missing something? Any thoughts or suggestions? |
