Default PyOpenColorIO linking behavior
Jeremy Selan <jeremy...@...>
I'd like to draw people's attention to the discussion thread:
https://github.com/imageworks/OpenColorIO/issues/236 Under proposal is to have the default OCIO installation install PyOpenColorIO inside python/site-packages, instead of /usr/lib{...} Currently the PyOpenColorIO .so does 'double duty' as a C++ so and as a python cmodule, so it's installed in /usr/lib{...} (with a symlink to site-packages) However, this installation location leads to linking / pylint difficulties. And the only application that makes use of this 'double duty' is Katana, but as Katana ships with it's own so(s) this default installation isn't even being used. And the installation complexity is causing difficulties (see the github page for more info). Please comment on this ticket if you have any concerns or thoughts about this change. -- Jeremy |
