job log directory

Nick <speed...@...>

Looks like out of the box, rqd is expecting a /shot directory to log job logs under.  Whats the best way to override this location?

Hi Nick,

This is very timely. I'm currently working on making the job log directory configurable as part of Issue #180.
We should have a solution out for this shortly, I'll update this thread when it's ready.

Thanks,
Greg

Hi. Any update on this? I can see that ticket was closed, but didn't see any solution how to configure this. Tried setting CUE_FS_ROOT on both cuebot server and rqd node, but still get this  RuntimeError: Unable to see log directory: /shots/testing...

Have you tried setting CUE_FRAME_LOG_DIR in your cuebot env?

Thanks for the suggestion, will try that.

Thanks Lars,

Yes, setting the CUE_FRAME_LOG_DIR environment variable in your Cuebot environment is the best way to specify a log directory. There's not much in the documentation about this, but it is described in the Deploying-The-Opencue-Sandbox-Environment section of the docs.
I think there is a need for a central "Configuration" doc page that describes the configuration options for the various components.

Thanks,
Greg

Thanks a lot.

Yes, centralized Configuration documentation would be much appreciated.
OpenCue looks very much promising indeed. Still fighting with some issues, but at least my windows machines are able to send jobs to linux cloud server and rqd node sees the command (simple sh script for test reasons) already.
