OTIO targets the VFX Reference Platform 2016-2020, which should cover PySide 2.0.x and 5.12.x.

It looks like our asks for version 5.11 or greater: 

It is possible that something is not working in otioview in newer PySide. Can you try running otioview with PySide 5.11 or 5.12? You should be able to install that into a virtual environment with pip.
